My life's not an adventure, but it keeps me awake. Sometimes.

I returned to the states in June 2004, and began what I expected to be a boring life. My expectations were not met. Sure some of it is mind-numbing, but I've been having mini-adventures that keep me pseudo-sane.

7/19 The mighty have fallen

I've known it was coming. The old lady dance--shuffling around, have to walk slowly and carefully because I might fall, being cautious--all these things were far into the future, until yesterday morning. Quincy had gotten water all over the kitchen floor like she does every day. Only this time I didn't pay attention. The next thing I knew, I'd done a slide into third base but without the third base. My back hurts, my neck hurts, my wrists hurt, my hips hurt. But damn, it was a good slide.

There's nothing wrong with me other than the aches you get when your body does something alien. I didn't know my body could still move that way. So guess I'll wear slippers from now on. At least for a day or two. Then I'll go back to my bad habit of always being barefoot.

Glad you weren't hurt too badly. You need to teach Q to clean up after herself :-). Love you and see you soon. I'm getting so excited for our trip.

You couldn't be creeping around as slowly as I was two weeks ago when my back went out. It was humbling going to physical therapy and being graded on my walk. I'm not ready for the runway yet.

At least you "went out" in style. I injured my back while I was asleep. Sheesh!

Been there, done that, know just exactly how you feel, but at least you didn't do it in public.

It's funny, Gin, you're a private person and fell in public, and for me it's just the opposite. I'm a clown and did my clownish thing privately. At least Q saw it.

Yeah, I remember turning wrong in my sleep and hurting my back. Luckily I've never had spasms like you, but still it is difficult to understand how one gets such an injury without actually doing anything. Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks, Jill. Q is the messiest drinker I've ever seen. Except for maybe my first husband. (Badabum!)

I'm excited too, honey. Won't be long now.

If this continues, we might have to get you a Nerf suit, mom. Might be easier than all the trouble trying to teach a dog to drink with manners.

A nerf suit? You mean like the one you wore to prom?

Not funny. Prom scars don't heal. Ever.

I agree with Rob....I didn't get to go to my Prom b/c Joe would not take me. It seems he had something against going to a prom at QHS...that and he was 22years old...way to 'mature' for a prom.

That's what happens when you (what's the opposite of "rob the cradle"?) :)
