My life's not an adventure, but it keeps me awake. Sometimes.

I returned to the states in June 2004, and began what I expected to be a boring life. My expectations were not met. Sure some of it is mind-numbing, but I've been having mini-adventures that keep me pseudo-sane.

4/8 Wet and cold

It's not really cold but feels that way with all the rain. I just keep chanting...bring May flowers. That's what this deluge will do for us.

Have another appointment for dog training tonight. We're going to try to walk the dogs together, because that's been my goal all along. We'll see how it goes.

I did finish my taxes, and because of my move will get money back. Except I had to file in two states (Wisconsin and Mississippi) and the WI one is all messed up. I couldn't e-file it, so will have to re-do it this weekend.

Got another box done last night. At this rate I'll be done by the time I have to do taxes next year.

2/1 Can you believe it's February?

I sure can't.

It's Mardi Gras season here but I haven't felt much like celebrating. But Fat Tuesday I'm going to a parade with Genia and Caroline. We're going to do some drinking and dancing, and I said I'll threaten the floats, "If you don't throw me some beads I'm going to show you my ----." I think that threat definitely ought to work.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the high 60s. Instead of going to a parade, I'm going to work on my taxes and maybe have lunch with Caroline. There's a new restaurant nearby that is my favorite--High Cotton. I love their fried green tomatoes.

Then tomorrow night some of us are getting together for games, so it should be a good weekend.

I decided I'm going to begin serious job searching and serious "thinking about selling my house" on Ash Wednesday. Seemed appropriate.

3/30 Friday again

Time is passing so quickly. In one week I'll be picking up Quincy. Yay for that.

The work week did fly by. We had visitors from Austin. And next week we have people from two different departments coming down to see us. I'm really glad, too., They're going to help us with some difficulties, and life will be a bit easier f or us afterward.

Tomorrow I'm going to finish my taxes. Haven't worked on them since last Sunday. Must get them done, especially because I'm going to get a nice refund. I can sure use that.
